Woldia University recently hosted a community action program for Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry teachers from North Wollo preparatory and high schools at its main campus. The event brought together educators and university faculty to strengthen the teaching of core science subjects, exchange best practices, and enhance the capacity of teachers to inspire the next generation of students in Ethiopia.
The initiative reflects the spirit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, which calls for inclusive, equitable, and high-quality learning opportunities. By equipping teachers with updated pedagogical methods and scientific knowledge, the program directly contributes to raising the standard of science education in Ethiopia’s secondary schools, especially in the North Wollo zone.
Sessions included interactive workshops, subject-specific training modules, and collaborative discussions on innovative classroom strategies. Teachers were also introduced to the importance of integrating digital tools into science education to make learning more engaging and effective.
